About

Christa has been working full-time as an Instructional Designer since 2016.

She defines Instructional Design as, “the art of communicating complicated ideas in uncomplicated ways,” and “a new / modern form of storytelling.”

As much as she appreciates Instructional Design as an outlet for creativity, she finds meaning in telling the right stories. Stories grounded in evidence. Stories that solve problems worth solving.

On her blog she discusses learning theory/theorists, learning science, epistemology, evolutionary biology, and anything else having to do with how and why we learn.

In addition to being an instructional designer, Christa is also a certified Bhakti yoga instructor; educated in trauma-sensitive yoga by David Emerson and Jenn Turner at the Kripalu institute in Boston.

After disassociating from her body for over a decade, she discovered - with a lot of help from others - the power of interoception.

Utilizing yoga and other embodiment techniques, she looks to share what she has learned within online tutorials. She hopes to help others as they work to overcome anxiety/depression/panic/trauma and/or enhance EQ.

These tutorials will be housed on mentaldowntime.org

Stay tuned.
